Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plumbing and HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing and HVAC systems, including pipes, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Review blueprints and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Tend to plumbing, air, and vacuum issues to minimize downtime and ensure production efficiency.
  • Participate in construction and remodeling projects, including plumbing, HVAC, and gas fitting changes and additions.
  • Maintain and perform preventative maintenance programs for all plumbing, heating, and air conditioning equipment.
  • Propose changes or modifications to plans to enhance production and efficiency of systems.
  • Assist in training, directing, and supervising junior employees and apprentices.
  • Perform plumbing inventory and order parts as required.
  • Review coding accuracy of assigned builds.
  • Provide technical assistance and emergency response services to existing facilities.
  • Set up and test finished HVAC equipment for proper performance and customer requirements.
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and safety documentation.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance, and repair techniques.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Johnson Controls' safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
Requirements
  • Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training preferred.
  • Appropriate credentials and certifications, including Industrial Plumber Trade Certification, 5th Period Apprentice, and working towards an Industrial Plumber Red Seal Certificate.
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
Working Conditions

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lb.
