About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Packaging Machine Operator to join our team at Scotian Gold Cooperative Limited. As a Packaging Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating machinery to process and package food products in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Machinery: Safely operate packaging machines to process and package food products, ensuring high-quality output and minimal waste.
  • Perform Corrective Adjustments: Perform routine maintenance and make corrective adjustments to machines as needed to ensure optimal performance.
  • Record Production Information: Accurately record production data, including quantities, quality, and any issues encountered.
  • Clean and Maintain Equipment: Clean and maintain machines and work areas to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Communicate with Supervisors: Inform supervisors of any mechanical malfunctions or product irregularities, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Set Up and Adjust Machines: Set up and adjust processing and packaging machines according to production requirements.
  • Inspect Products: Inspect products for defects and ensure conformance to company standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Work Setting: Fruit and vegetable processing plant.
  • Transportation: Own transportation.
  • Work Conditions: Repetitive tasks, attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, standing for extended periods, and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral and written communication skills, team player, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
