We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lifeguard/Instructor I to join our team at the City of Regina. As a key member of our aquatic team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons and providing high-quality instructional services at our aquatic facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure proper safety procedures are followed and perform first aid, water rescues, and other lifeguarding skills as required.
- Carry out responsible lifeguard and instructional duties, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for aquatic enjoyment and education.
- Participate in mandatory staff training and development programs.
- Assume responsibility for individual lesson plans, class attendance, and evaluations.
- Enforce swimming pool rules and regulations as outlined by the City of Regina and the Saskatchewan Public Health Act.
- Assist with cleaning and disinfecting duties as required.
- Supervise patrons and maintain good public relations with facility staff.
- Experience in dealing with clients at aquatic facilities, providing lifeguarding and instructional services.
- A minimum of Grade 10 (can be in progress).
- Must possess the following awards and certifications: Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Service - Pool (NL), Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Instructor Certification, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and at least one of the following: Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR/AED-C, St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid & CPR/AED-C, or Lifesaving Society Aquatic Emergency Care & CPR/AED-C.
- Available shifts: daytime, evening, and weekends.
- Testing may be conducted to evaluate knowledge, skills, and abilities.
