Key Responsibilities

  • Enforce state laws and college policies and procedures
  • Conduct thorough patrols of the college campus
  • Provide emergency medical response and conduct routine traffic enforcement
  • Investigate any violations of laws and college policies
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Current certification as a law enforcement officer by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services
  • U.S. citizen
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Possess valid Virginia driver's license
  • No convictions of felonies and/or serious misdemeanors
  • Successfully pass all phases of the police officer selection process

Preferred Qualifications

  • Law enforcement experience, preferably in a campus environment
  • Completed FEMA/NIMS IS-100 and IS-700
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR
