About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Economic Analyst to join our dynamic team at Ignite, a leading organization dedicated to driving economic development and fostering business growth across our region. This part-time, 12-month contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful economic initiatives while working in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth research and data analysis to support our economic and business development strategies.
  • Evaluate labor markets, demographics, and business ecosystems to inform strategic decision-making and support regional growth.
  • Research, compile, analyze, interpret, and prepare data to prepare reports and update our website.
  • Develop economic forecasts utilizing econometric techniques and maintain records and reports related to regional economic development.
  • Assess economic impacts of various inputs and work with local leadership to implement initiatives, projects, and programs in accordance with our economic development strategy.
  • Update our Economic Dashboard monthly and write a 100-word Economic article for our Ignite Newsletter.
Requirements
  • Working towards or earned a recognized university business degree with relevant area of study.
  • Experience in a collaborative, goal-oriented environment and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Tableau Software.
  • Strong data visualization and research skills, excellent communication and presentation abilities, and ability to work independently and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is preferred, and experience with CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot) is an asset.
