About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Dental Assistant to join our team at BC Cancer. As a key member of our dental clinic, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our team in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management of patients with medical compromise and potential exposure to medical risk, performing chair-side duties and coordinating booking for dental clinic and OR procedures.
  • Communicate with medical and dental staff to adjust appointment schedules, ensuring patient care is not compromised.
  • Perform all chair-side duties of a dental assistant, maintain infection control, and ensure patient charts are requested and filed accurately.
  • Assist with OR procedures and maintain a double-entry system for patient files.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 graduation.
  • Graduation from a recognized Certified Dental Assistant Course.
  • Current registration with the British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals (BCCOHP).
  • One year of related experience, preferably in a hospital setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work well with patients and staff.
