Job Title: Crossing Guard On-Call

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Crossing Guard On-Call. This is a part-time position that requires flexibility and a commitment to ensuring the safety of our students.

Job Summary:

The Crossing Guard On-Call will be responsible for ensuring the safety of students at school crosswalks, monitoring student behavior, and reporting any incidents or concerns to the school administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure student safety at school crosswalks, including managing behaviors of children and adults.
  • Monitor students before, during, or after school, ensuring the school grounds are clear and all students leave the property.
  • Complete discipline reports to the school administration in a timely manner.
  • Dispense first aid supplies as needed.
  • Report traffic violations and other community behavior concerns.
  • Perform other assigned duties within the scope of the job description.
Requirements:
  • Completion of Grade 12 and up to one month of experience or training with an experienced crossing guard.
  • Patience with and care for students, and a demonstrated aptitude for the work.
  • Ability to work well with other adults and a desire to help children.
  • Self-assurance and a well-modulated voice with the ability to speak fluently and communicate effectively.
  • Appreciation of the confidential nature of all information relating to students, parents, and teachers.
  • Completion of the Adult School Crossing Guard Workshop Booklet.
Terms of Employment:

This is a part-time position, with a starting hourly rate of $29 per hour as per the collective agreement.
