Position Overview:

The Merchandise Processing Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing customer satisfaction and driving sales by effectively managing the processing of donated goods. This position is integral to the operations of Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona, ensuring that merchandise is prepared for retail in a timely and efficient manner.

Compensation: Starting Pay: $14.50 / Hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and prepare donated items for sale, ensuring accurate pricing and ticketing while meeting established quotas.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and actively contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Protect company assets, including donated merchandise, and report any incidents of theft or misappropriation.
  • Understand and uphold the policy that all donated items are the property of the organization.
  • Ensure the sales floor and processing areas are organized and adhere to established standards.
  • Stock merchandise in designated areas as directed.
  • Participate in cross-training across various processing departments as needed.
  • Assess the quality of donated items and categorize them appropriately.
  • Report any hazardous materials discovered during the processing of merchandise.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and utilize appropriate safety equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in reading and speaking English.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
