- Participate in the early stages of projects: scoping, specifying, and interpreting surveys, inspections, and investigative works, as well as scheme design.
- Conduct detailed design work: modeling, calculations, and overseeing drawing production.
- Prepare documentation, including authoring technical reports, specifications, and contract documents.
- Review the work of colleagues: category 3 checking, acting as a client representative and designer's site representative.
- Interface with clients from local and national authorities, consultants, and contractors.
- Support the development of junior staff towards achieving professional qualifications.
- A degree in civil/structural engineering at master's level or equivalent.
- A minimum of 10-15 years of professional experience.
- Chartered Engineer status with relevant engineering institutions.
- Ability to thrive within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team.
- Strong technical knowledge and engineering skills, including familiarity with bridge engineering software.
- Flexible, motivated, and focused.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficient in producing high-quality design outputs.
- Strong organizational skills and a solid work ethic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with relevant design standards and legislation in bridge/structural design.
- Experience in multidisciplinary consultancy or contracting within related civil engineering fields.
- A willingness to understand and contribute to colleagues' work in areas beyond transportation infrastructure projects.
- An interest in business development, client liaison, and participation in bids and tenders.
