Role: Dock Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Dock Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing focused and detailed supervision of our evening shift, ensuring the safe and timely unloading, staging, and loading of freight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective supervision and leadership to staff, ensuring they are adequately trained to perform their duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Consciously adhere to all Health & Safety rules and regulations, as well as Transport Canada mandates.
  • Optimize the use of staff and equipment to meet customer service requirements.
  • Investigate and report any damage to equipment, facilities, or freight, ensuring prompt completion of photographs and reports.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.
  • Required to work overtime as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the transportation, logistics, or distribution sector.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a union environment.
  • Strong team builder with excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple conflicting priorities and work well under pressure.
  • Good computer skills required.
  • Superior attention to detail required.
