Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will play a key role in developing and executing financial planning processes, analyzing customer segmentation, and providing insights to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Develop and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analyses of Grainger's financial results
    • Work with regions and corporate support functions to develop ad hoc financial analyses of customer, product, or service-related issues and opportunities
  • Customer Segmentation Analysis
    • Analyze customer segmentation data to identify trends and opportunities for growth
    • Develop and refine the existing Small, Medium, Large, and National Account segmentation methodology and analysis
  • Capital Appropriation Requests
    • Develop financial forecasts and discounted cash flow analyses for Capital Appropriation Requests
    • Work with project sponsors and project managers to develop business case documentation
  • Reporting and Presentations
    • Develop and present financial analyses and reports to stakeholders
    • Assist in the development of quarterly financial forecasts and contingency plans
Requirements
  • Education
    • Completion of a university degree in Business Administration or Commerce
  • Experience
    • 2-3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within a distribution environment
  • Skills
    • Strong business acumen and analytical skills
    • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, with a strong emphasis on Excel
    • Knowledge of PowerBi or other Microsoft tools or Tableau, SQL, Snowflake, Teradata
    • Demonstrated skills and initiative in process improvement
    • Strong customer service focus and ability to effectively consult with functional and business units
    • Proven organizational and time management skills
    • Prior experience and ability to effectively present information via written and verbal presentations
