Job Overview
Equinox is seeking dedicated Fitness Equipment Service Technicians who are self-motivated, responsible, punctual, organized, and possess excellent communication skills. The technician will provide exceptional support to our clubs by repairing, maintaining, and servicing commercial fitness equipment. This role reports to the Manager of Fitness Equipment Repair.
Key Responsibilities:
- Extensive knowledge to perform general fitness equipment repairs, including treadmill belt replacements, small drive motors, understanding voltage readings on all components, replacing equipment consoles, and performing stationary bike calibrations.
- Strong electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills are essential.
- Experience with electronic boards is required.
- Conduct all troubleshooting and diagnostics of fitness equipment.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with General Managers, Assistant General Managers, Maintenance Managers, and all club staff.
- Manage parts inventory efficiently.
- Utilize all tools, equipment, and materials necessary for repairs.
- Work within a designated geographical area and accept assigned repair tickets.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Ensure equipment is functioning properly before leaving the club and communicate any challenges clearly.
- Adopt a no-excuses approach to restoring equipment to full operation.
- Take responsibility for actions and outcomes.
- Possess excellent computer skills, including experience with Service Channel and Microsoft Outlook.
- Must have personal mechanics tools; some specialty tools will be provided.
Time Management:
- Maintain a flexible schedule, with availability for nights and weekends.
- Manage a daily routine of service calls and perform repairs and emergencies as needed.
- Effectively manage timelines and meet deadlines.
- Travel to various locations as directed.
- Perform overtime as required.
Administrative Duties:
- Complete reports and paperwork as necessary to fulfill daily job tasks.
- Maintain inventory levels and adhere to the assigned fitness equipment repair budget.
- Present a professional appearance at all times in accordance with Equinox standards.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and comply with assigned performance protocols.
- Provide detailed feedback to the Fitness Equipment Repair Manager regarding any challenges encountered in the field.
- Seek and utilize feedback for continuous improvement.
- Actively contribute to team goals and cost-saving initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a fitness equipment repair technician in the health club, hotel, or hospitality industry.
- Experience working as part of a team in an environment focused on achieving departmental goals.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to lift, slide, or move up to 100 pounds and bend frequently.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding customer service expectations.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Pay Transparency: Minimum $60K - Maximum $65K
