About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpentry Assistant to join our team at Jakubowski Enterprises Ltd O/A J-West Construction. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload construction materials, equipment, and supplies from vehicles and storage areas.
  • Site Preparation: Assist in the setup and dismantling of scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Material Handling: Clean and pile salvaged materials, and assist in the transportation of materials to and from job sites.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced construction environment, with regular exposure to dust, noise, and physical demands.
  • Work Schedule: Work a regular 35-hour workweek, with occasional overtime as required.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required for effective communication with colleagues and supervisors.
Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but relevant experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor in a construction environment.
