Network Systems Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Systems Administrator to join our team at Academy of Learning College, Mississauga West. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure seamless communication and data exchange.
Key Responsibilities- Network Administration: Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.
- Hardware and Software Evaluation: Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Problem-Solving: Provide problem-solving services to network users, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of technical issues.
- Security and Compliance: Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures to protect our network and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Backup and Recovery: Perform routine network start-up and close-down, maintain control records, and perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Network Optimization: Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet, implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance.
- Web Development: Modify Web pages, applets, and scripts, research and apply meta-data to Websites, and register Websites with search engines.
- Technical Leadership: Supervise technical staff and provide guidance and support to ensure the successful implementation of network projects.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in JavaOS, device drivers, networking software, networking security, intranet, servers, file management software, presentation software, programming software, database software, MS Office, and MS Windows.
- Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, requiring attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Personal Qualities: Accurate, client-focused, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, initiative, judgment, and a team player attitude.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of network administration and IT infrastructure.
