Position OverviewWe are in search of a dedicated and talented engineer to enhance key components of our Android and iOS applications. Currently, our mobile engineering team consists of one Android engineer, one iOS engineer, one Front End Web engineer, and one Backend engineer. We aim to expand our mobile engineering capabilities with a candidate who is eager to bridge the gap between Android and iOS, sharing insights and experiences across both platforms.
We are thrilled to offer the opportunity for an existing Android or iOS engineer to gain experience in the other platform, and we do not expect candidates to possess expertise in both environments from the outset.
Team DynamicsAs a small team within a well-established organization (Pocket was acquired by Mozilla in 2017), you will have numerous opportunities to innovate, learn, and grow across various domains. You will collaborate closely with colleagues from diverse fields and take ownership of projects that significantly impact a large user base.
Key Responsibilities- Take charge of critical aspects of Pocket on both Android and iOS platforms.
- Develop a dynamic and adaptable native user experience that enables users to discover, save, organize, consume, and share millions of articles.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, data scientists, designers, product managers, and support teams to enhance the overall product experience for Pocket's users.
We are looking for candidates with:
- Several years of practical experience in Android or iOS development, contributing to high-quality applications.
- In-depth knowledge of the Android or iOS SDK.
- Significant experience with Swift and/or Kotlin.
- A strong interest in developing skills across both Android and iOS platforms.
- Experience in problem-solving, risk management, and facilitating collaborative decision-making within cross-functional teams.
- A genuine passion for creating exceptional products.
