About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting, Assistant Vice President to join our team at State Street. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of financial statements and reports for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the preparation of quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial statements for various fund structures and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee relationships and support the client service team as a subject matter expert in financial reporting services.
  • Primary owner of external and internal audits.
  • Regularly review regulatory changes and industry practices, proactively assessing and communicating client impacts.
  • Design operating models and standard procedures and controls, staff training and development, performance reviews, and other initiatives as required.
  • Lead and manage technology enhancement projects and process improvement initiatives to reduce operational risks, increase efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Support the VP, Financial Reporting in the completion of RFPs and participate in sales presentations to existing clients and external prospects.
Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian fund reporting and regulatory environment requirements outlined under IFRS and NI 81-106.
  • Strong demonstration of leadership qualities, superior attention to detail, excellent time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
Education and Qualifications
  • University/College degree.
  • CPA/CFA designation preferred.
  • 6-8 years of experience in the investment fund industry with financial reporting experience required.
  • Experience in preparation and review of investment fund financial statements.
