Position Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Heavy-Duty Mechanic to become part of the team in Trail, B.C. This role is crucial in maintaining all mechanical mobile equipment associated with site operations, ensuring they are safe and fully operational. The position also mandates adherence to all Health & Safety regulations and relevant policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example in safety, complying with all safety standards and policies.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems, executing repairs on various company equipment including cranes, trucks, excavators, loaders, forklifts, and other heavy machinery.
  • Test and operate repaired equipment to confirm performance and compliance with specifications.
  • Keep all equipment certification and maintenance records current.
  • Schedule inspections for heavy trucks and manage the fleet service calendar.
  • Responsible for cleaning, lubricating, and servicing machinery.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections.
  • Maintain a tidy workspace, including tools and equipment.
  • Assist with additional tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic.
  • Possession of a journeyman certificate or Red Seal.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License, with a preference for Class 1.
  • Air brakes endorsement is preferred.
  • Experience in repairing excavators, loaders, cranes, forklifts, trailers, and tractors.
  • Highly adaptable, with strong interpersonal skills to thrive in a diverse workplace.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to perform well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
