Position Overview:
This distinctive hybrid role encompasses both KeepStock and Branch responsibilities within a specific market. The Field Operations Specialist will engage with key customers both at the branch and on-site. This position requires a customer-facing approach, with a strong emphasis on agility and organization. The primary goal is to leverage sales and service opportunities, foster customer loyalty, and surpass customer expectations through expertise, knowledge, technological proficiency, and a positive attitude. Exceptional communication skills and effective time management are essential.
As a hybrid role, the individual will be expected to work in the Grainger Canada branch and travel to service customer accounts.

Key Responsibilities (You Will):
The responsibilities of this position can be categorized into two areas (KeepStock & Branch), including but not limited to:
Branch Responsibilities:
- Oversee the complete customer experience, ensuring appropriate product selection based on customer needs, accurate order entry and maintenance, safe product picking, and loading customer vehicles as necessary.
- Consistently focus on branch sales to capitalize on opportunities and promote customer loyalty to achieve revenue targets.
- Promote company products and services to customers, providing alternatives when necessary.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of products and tools offered, including completing required certifications.
- Process customer transactions efficiently.
- Provide timely updates to customers regarding delivery, lead times, quotes, etc.
- Manage tasks related to filling vending machines and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI).
- Collaborate with KS customers on program and product updates for vending/VMI initiatives.
KeepStock Responsibilities:
- Address specific customer needs, including but not limited to Vendor Managed Inventory and vending unit replenishment.
- Ensure proper product stocking levels at customer locations by scanning for orders as inventory decreases.
- Oversee customer inventory locations, ensuring accurate labeling and quantities on hand.
- Regularly meet with key customer contacts to ensure their needs are met and products are available, including scanning, put away, and spot buys of products.
- Promptly and accurately resolve customer issues to retain and enhance customer loyalty.
- Follow designated customer routes as defined by routing software tools.
- Document standard operating procedures at customer locations to guide backup resources and ensure service continuity.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in productivity, process enhancement, and cycle time across all sales and service activities.
- Comply with safety and inspection requirements of the facilities where services are provided.
Qualifications (You Have):
- High school diploma.
- 1-3 years of experience in retail, sales, or customer service (e.g., counter/retail sales, telephone, warehouse) environment.
- Flexibility in working hours to accommodate branch operations.
- Ability to safely learn and operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts.
- Successful and timely completion of initial and ongoing training as required.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and dedicated to customer service and sales growth.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers and cross-functional partners with tact and diplomacy.
- Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgment, independent problem-solving skills, and understanding of Grainger's Core Value Proposition.
- Handle various technical and operational challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Background checks and drug screening may be required as warranted by company or customer requirements.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in the province of residence.
- May be required to use a personal vehicle for transportation that meets Grainger's standards.
- This role may require attendance at customer sites and adherence to safety requirements in accordance with applicable health and safety legislation, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) on certain customer sites.
