Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wildland Fire Protection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will play a vital role in safeguarding our valuable forest resources.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee fire suppression activities in forested areas, ensuring the safety of personnel and property.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive fire prevention strategies, including training programs for seasonal and occasional staff.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across various sectors to coordinate wildfire response efforts.
  • Conduct pre-suppression activities to mitigate potential fire hazards and enhance forest resilience.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in forestry or a related field, coupled with proven experience in wildland fire management.

  • A college diploma in forestry or a similar discipline is required.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in wildfire suppression and prevention are essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively guide teams in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency in French is a requirement for this role.
  • Excellent physical condition and good health are necessary due to the demanding nature of the work.
  • Completion of specialized firefighting training programs is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is beneficial.
