Key Responsibilities- Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical needs
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet their physical, emotional, and psychological needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal outcomes
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
- Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment by promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Recent medical/surgical experience in an acute care setting
- Telemetry experience
- Coronary Care I certification within 6 months of hire
- Critical care experience an asset
- Physical Assessment Course an asset
- Ability to prioritize and work efficiently in a rapidly changing environment
- Organized and able to work in a team environment
- Previous experience working with Meditech and McKesson Visibility an asset
- Strong patient assessment skills
- Caring, compassionate, customer-focused attitude towards patients and families
- Able to physically meet the demands of the role
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record
