Overview of Responsibilities

The primary role of the Clinical Program Administrator is to support patients, caregivers, and the community in managing health conditions and transitions, while enhancing the patient's self-care capabilities. This position also promotes a culture of caregiver involvement in the patient's care plan.

The Healthcare Operations Clerk is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing telephone communications, relaying messages, and guiding patients' families and visitors. This role includes completing and processing diagnostic requisitions, initiating transfer documentation, and managing physician orders. Additionally, the clerk is tasked with filling out, sending, receiving, delivering, and filing requisitions on patient records, ensuring that all charts are accurate and complete. Ordering supplies for the unit is also part of the responsibilities.

Other tasks may be assigned as needed.


Job Requirements

  • Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma
  • Proficiency in Medical Terminology (with a minimum passing score of 75%)
  • Completion of a Medical Office Assistant Course or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with Word, StaffRight, Excel, and Anzer software
  • Solid understanding of Emergency Response Codes
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients and their families
  • Proven ability to process physician orders accurately
  • Capability to read and comprehend instructions, memos, and other documents
  • Basic arithmetic skills for report completion
  • Physical capability to meet the demands of the role
  • Typing proficiency of 45 words per minute
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong team-oriented approach
  • Consistent and punctual attendance record
  • Commitment to ensuring patient safety
  • Functional proficiency in both official languages (oral and written in English; oral in French – testing completed)
