About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Optician Dispenser to join our team at Boardwalk Optometry. As an Optician Dispenser, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze Client Needs

Measure the client's eye curvature, pupillary distance, and bridge width using optical measuring devices to determine the best eyeglass or contact lens solution.

Prescription Fulfillment

Obtain specifications for eyeglasses and contact lenses from a prescription prepared by an ophthalmologist or optometrist.

Client Consultation

Assist clients in selecting eyeglasses and advise on the use and care of contact lenses.

Lens Preparation

Cut and edge lenses and fit them into frames, and adjust finished eyeglasses to fit the client.

Quality Control

Ensure that all eyeglasses and contact lenses meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

Requirements
  • Education

College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience.

Experience

Previous experience in the field of optometry is an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Skills

Manual dexterity, attention to detail, ability to distinguish between colors, and excellent communication skills.
