A dynamic and challenging role awaits the successful candidate in our team at Campus Living Centres.
About the RoleThe General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the community, including management of tenant relations, front desk, office administration, housekeeping, maintenance, finance, human resources, payroll, and staff development.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and be accountable for the annual building operating budget
- Execute the budget, including approving, maintaining, and controlling all operational revenues and expenses
- Ensure that all collection and control procedures are followed relating to accounts receivable
- Provide constant vendor/contractor communications concerning scheduling, billing, vendor relations, and certificates of insurance
- Ensure that all A/P invoices are submitted to the corporate office for payment, handle petty cash, and all funds
- Ensure monthly and other requested reporting is completed accurately and on time
- Ensure the property is rented to fullest capacity
- Utilize marketing strategies to secure prospective residents
- Confirm that leasing staff techniques are effective in closing sales
- Continually monitor and analyze traffic logs, conversion ratios, budget guidelines, renewal information, marketing data, etc., to be able to give up-to-date and proper information when requested
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times
- Recognized College Diploma or University Degree
- Minimum of 5 years industry experience or equivalent management experience
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Superior budgetary and decision-making ability
- Excellent employee management skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once
- Ability to provide leadership to staff
Scheduled 44 hours per week (may need to work more as required)
High level of interruption
Moderate overall stress level (peak stress levels in May and September)
Minimal travel outside of location
