About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Treaty Reinsurance Underwriter to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. As a key member of our underwriting function, you will be responsible for supporting the Canadian portfolio and working closely with our clients and brokers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review and analyze renewal and new business treaty reinsurance programs to determine suitability for our portfolio.
  2. Negotiate agreement terms, conditions, and contract terms with clients and brokers.
  3. Conduct underwriting audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  4. Manage broker and client relationships through marketing and travel.
  5. Oversee portfolio management, including reporting, account management, and budgeting.
Requirements
  1. 10+ years of experience in multi-line underwriting in the (re)insurance industry.
  2. Experience in multiple lines and property catastrophe knowledge is preferred.
  3. Proven track record of strong client management and communication skills.
  4. Ability to collaborate with interdepartmental stakeholders, including claims, accounting, and actuarial.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
