Job Summary

The KPU Community Ambassador plays a vital role in sharing the KPU student experience with prospective students, their parents, and attendees at community events. This position is an integral part of the Community Engagement & Major Events Office (CEME) and requires a student who is enthusiastic, outgoing, and customer service oriented.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct informative campus tours for prospective students, providing a comprehensive overview of KPU's programs and services.
  • Engage with prospective students and community members at events, on social media, and through email and telephone communications, showcasing the KPU student experience.
  • Assist with event planning, setup, coordination, and operational logistics, ensuring seamless execution of CEME events.
  • Provide knowledgeable, timely, and professional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Act in accordance with KPU branding standards, promoting the university's image and values.
Qualifications
  • Current KPU student in good academic standing, with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
  • Outgoing and enthusiastic, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate and experienced with Microsoft Office software.
  • Reliable, responsible, and professional, with a customer service orientation.
  • Able to work as part of a team and independently, with effective multi-tasking skills.
  • Experienced public speaker, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
  • Social media savvy, with a strong online presence.
  • Sensitive to diverse student needs, with a commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Available for shifts at any campus or community event, as needed, including evenings and weekends.
Salary Information

Student Assistants are paid as per the following:

  • Less than one year of post-secondary (less than 30 credits) – BC Minimum Wage.
  • One year of post-secondary credits) – BC Minimum Wage plus 8%.
  • With a post-secondary diploma or degree – BC Minimum Wage plus 21%.
