About the Role

Secure Energy Services Inc. is a leading provider of waste management and energy infrastructure solutions. We are seeking an experienced Field Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary

The HSE Specialist will provide critical support to our field operations teams, focusing on the development and implementation of a front-line based safety program. This role will involve leading training, auditing, and coaching of facility leadership staff on SECURE's safety program requirements and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert support to field operations teams in adhering to SECURE's Life Saving Rules and HSE Management System (HSEMS).
  • Maintain a high level of in-person field support, with a minimum of 50% of time spent on-site.
  • Support core systems, including iTrak, work permitting/hazard assessment, job hazard assessment/TRAC, visitor orientations, safety tickets, emergency response plan, facility inspections/communication, safety manual, and COR audit.
  • Develop and maintain components of the HSEMS as requested.
  • Ensure effective communication and consistency through active engagement in safety meetings, area calls, and general safety communications.
  • Continuously update personal development, specifically maintaining up-to-date safety tickets and related training.
  • Provide additional support as required.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience in industry-related operations.
  • A High School Diploma.
  • OHS Certificate, CRSP, or NCSO designation.
  • Working knowledge of safety management systems and safe work practices.
  • Practical knowledge and experience in training and coaching staff.
  • A broad understanding of the HSE regulatory process and principles.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work well under pressure.
  • Strong ability to build working relationships and contacts within the organization and with external regulators, vendors, and contractors.
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Hands-on experience performing operating tasks within facilities is considered a strong asset.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who live and maintain a permanent residence within the area where the operational facilities are located.
