The role of the Park Attendant involves providing excellent customer service while maintaining the natural beauty and functionality of conservation areas. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and are passionate about environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine landscape and grounds upkeep using various tools and equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Perform general sanitation tasks, including waste disposal and cleaning of facilities.
  • Assist with basic maintenance tasks under supervision.
  • Welcome and engage with visitors to enhance their experience.
  • Identify and report any hazardous conditions to ensure safety for all.
  • Handle admissions and sales transactions using point of sale systems.
  • Manage cash handling duties, including daily revenue summaries.
  • Provide clerical support as needed, including event bookings.
  • Participate in daily safety discussions and emergency preparedness planning.
  • Offer calm assistance during medical incidents or emergencies.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid Ontario Class G2 driver's license is necessary.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of health and safety practices.
  • Effective communication skills with a focus on courtesy.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and manage challenging situations.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office and online collaboration tools.
  • Physical capability to lift or carry items weighing up to 20 kg.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
