Key Responsibilities:- Drive cost-saving initiatives for maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO).
- Prepare and manage documentation necessary for export transactions.
- Evaluate eligibility and review trade agreements, including the approval of supplier-generated certificates.
- Scrutinize customs entries to guarantee accurate value declarations, HTS classifications, and exemptions.
- Maintain and update Tariff Codes and country of origin classifications.
- Resolve supply chain disruptions related to customs and government regulations.
- Provide guidance on regulatory compliance for imports and exports.
- Support trade programs and ensure compliance with USMCA and other preferential trade agreements.
- Contribute to supply chain security initiatives.
- Manage legal interpretations of customs regulations, including valuations and exemptions.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures.
- Create and send purchase orders, verify confirmations, and track deliveries.
- Engage with suppliers and collaborate with teams to source new products.
- Support corporate procurement initiatives and assist with various projects.
- Oversee the maintenance of supply vending machines.
- Provide backup support to the procurement and planning teams as needed.
- Encourage team collaboration to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
- High School diploma, College degree, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent post-secondary certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in trade compliance and product classification.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to take on diverse tasks beyond assigned responsibilities.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
- CTCS (Certified Trades Compliance Specialist) designation completed or in progress.
- CIFFA (Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association) designation completed or in progress.
- CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) designation completed or in progress.
- Experience in preparing commercial invoices.
- Familiarity with product classification (HTS).
- Knowledge of rules for determining country of origin and valuation.
- Experience with USMCA declarations.
