The Opportunity

As a Heavy Equipment Shop Technician at Wajax, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service and technical expertise to our customers. Your primary focus will be on the testing, diagnosing, repair, maintenance, and reconditioning of heavy equipment, transmissions, engines, and engine components in our shop.

The Role

  • Inspect and diagnose equipment components for servicing needs.
  • Communicate with customers to authorize servicing and repairs as required.
  • Service and repair equipment in the shop and on-site for customers.
  • Recondition and remanufacture components as needed for equipment, engine, and hydraulic repairs.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with customers.
  • Communicate equipment servicing needs with Branch Supervisor/Manager.
  • Complete service paperwork and update service records.
  • Participate in manufacturers' and in-house service training.
  • Comply with the Health & Safety program and practices.
  • Conduct housekeeping duties.
  • Maintain a professional company image at all times.

The Candidate

  • Education: Trade certification, Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician.
  • Work Experience: 2-3 years with Construction and Mining Equipment.
  • Knowledge: Proficient written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to work with customers, exceptional customer service; demonstrated mechanical aptitude, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
