Job Title: Field Heavy Equipment Technician

Brandt is seeking a skilled Field Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in Grande Prairie. This is a great opportunity to work with a variety of heavy equipment and attachments in a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments. This includes evaluating the working condition of equipment, diagnosing issues, and performing repairs and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the working condition of heavy equipment and diagnose issues
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on heavy equipment and attachments
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Document all machine information, actions taken, and time taken on work orders
  • Assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  • Order parts from parts personnel and use parts catalogues to locate parts
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
Requirements
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including climbing, overhead lifting, and prolonged standing
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
