We are an exceptional co-educational independent school for students Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. Our unique educational philosophy champions the role of the Fine Arts, encouraging creativity in our students and fostering valuable and transferable core skills.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate primary education specialist to start. As a primary education specialist at Pythagoras Academy, you will be responsible for creating a safe and caring learning environment that supports the growth and development of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and lead interactive learning activities
  • Facilitate classroom discussions and promote critical thinking
  • Integrate technology and media into lesson planning to enhance student engagement
  • Accompany classes on educational field trips
  • Promote and maintain high standards of behavior, respect, and safety within the classroom
  • Build a positive, safe relationship with students that supports their growth and development
  • Develop a positive, safe culture through actions and words
  • Integrate social responsibility and kindness into daily teaching and routines
Requirements
  • Possess a valid teaching certification
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in education
  • Model a strong work ethic and high standards of commitment
  • Foster school mission, values, and sense of community through student-centered decisions
  • Effectively communicate with staff, parents, and students
  • Maintain professionalism through all school interactions and activities

Compensation

Pythagoras Academy teaching salaries are 5% above Richmond School Board salaries.
