Pipe Fitter Job Description

TIIKA CONSTRUCTION INC. is seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter to join our team. As a Pipe Fitter, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems in various settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and Mount Piping Systems: Install sprinkler heads and mount prepared pipe in supports, ensuring a secure and leak-free system.
  • Pipe Selection and Fabrication: Select, measure, cut, ream, and thread pipe to the required specifications, using various tools and equipment.
  • Apprentice Instruction: Instruct apprentices in the proper techniques and procedures for pipe installation and maintenance.
  • Piping System Connection: Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors, and control equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient system.
  • Pipe Support and Installation: Install clamps, brackets, and hangers to support piping systems and sprinkler and fire protection equipment, using hand and power tools.
  • Pipe Joining and Repair: Join pipes and piping sections using soldering and welding equipment, and service and repair sprinkler systems as needed.
  • Opening and Cutting: Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors, and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines, and measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required shape and size.
  • System Testing and Maintenance: Test systems for leaks using testing equipment, and remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems as needed.
  • Pipe Selection and Sizing: Select the type and size of pipe required for each project, and weld, braze, cement, solder, and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping systems.

Work Environment: This is a permanent position, working 35 hours per week. The work language is French.
