Pipe Fitter Job Description

TIIKA CONSTRUCTION INC. is seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter to join our team. As a Pipe Fitter, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems in various settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and Mount Piping Systems: Install sprinkler heads and mount prepared pipe in supports, ensuring a secure and leak-free system.
  • Pipe Selection and Fabrication: Select, measure, cut, ream, and thread pipe to the required specifications, using various tools and equipment.
  • Apprentice Instruction: Instruct apprentices in the proper techniques and procedures for pipe installation and maintenance.
  • Piping System Connection: Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors, and control equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient system.
  • Pipe Support and Installation: Install clamps, brackets, and hangers to support piping systems and sprinkler and fire protection equipment, using hand and power tools.
  • System Testing and Repair: Test systems for leaks using testing equipment and repair or replace worn components as needed.
  • Pipe Fabrication and Welding: Weld, braze, cement, solder, and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping systems.

Requirements:

  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in pipe fitting and installation.
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • French language proficiency.
  • 35 hours per week, permanent work term.
