Clinical Therapist Position

The Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health organization is seeking a skilled Clinical Therapist to join their Adult Service team in Mental Health and Addictions. As a member of this team, the successful candidate will provide assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and crisis management for clients. This role requires a high level of professionalism, empathy, and effective communication skills to work collaboratively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
About YouWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Therapist who possesses a Master's degree in a clinical health-related discipline. The ideal candidate will have current registration with a relevant provincial regulatory body and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders. Additionally, the successful candidate will have experience in providing individual and group evidence-informed therapies based on care plans to clients with mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or concurrent disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and crisis management for clients
- Collaborate with families in relation to sharing information and implementing family-sensitive services
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on client needs and goals
- Provide education and support to clients and their families on mental health and addiction issues
- Participate in quality initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in mental health and addiction services
- Master's degree in a clinical health-related discipline
- Current registration with a relevant provincial regulatory body
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders
- Experience in providing individual and group evidence-informed therapies based on care plans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
