We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Customs Broker to become a vital part of our team at CB Canada. In this role, you will utilize your extensive expertise in entry documentation and classification, engage in customs clearance processes with regulatory bodies, and ensure compliance with customs legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and submit customs declarations and coordinate freight forwarding to specified destinations, collaborating with both international and domestic carriers, overseas branches, and importers.
- Guarantee a precise and prompt customs clearance procedure for all submissions made.
- Notify clients and supervisors of any discrepancies in documentation.
- Oversee the delivery of goods to specified locations.
- Address financial and accounting reconciliation issues related to exchanges.
- Input entries into the imaging system within the required timeframes.
- Generate reports, presentations, and analyses utilizing various software tools and databases.
- Follow up on documentation discrepancies, providing troubleshooting and effective communication with clients and foreign suppliers.
- Establish and nurture relationships with clients.
- Availability for weekend work on a rotational basis and holiday scheduling based on operational demands and account needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a customs brokerage environment.
- Thorough understanding of customs operations, laws, regulations, and interactions with government agencies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Certification from a customs broker association is preferred.
- Fast and accurate data entry capabilities.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
- Ability to commute as required.
