Job Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays a pivotal role in the strategic leadership of the Fort McKay Group of Companies LP. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CFO is entrusted with the comprehensive management of the Finance and Accounting department, ensuring all financial processes, reporting, and compliance are executed to the highest standards.
The CFO is also responsible for fostering relationships with key external financial stakeholders and collaborating with senior leadership to optimize financial performance and support the organization’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and assess financial programs and systems, including budgeting, tax strategies, and asset management.
- Oversee enhancements in automated financial and management information systems.
- Ensure adherence to all reporting standards and compliance requirements.
- Supervise the processing of financial transactions, including revenue and expenditure management.
- Coordinate the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports.
- Develop and uphold accounting, billing, and auditing protocols.
- Establish robust internal control measures to safeguard financial integrity.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to provide analytical support for strategic planning initiatives.
- Maintain financial records in accordance with accepted auditing practices.
- Lead the development and execution of strategic business plans and operational projects.
- Manage cash flow, cost control measures, and overall expense management.
- Analyze financial data to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Set and implement departmental objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare timely monthly financial statements and comprehensive reporting packages.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s financial records.
- Oversee the budgeting process and generate necessary reports for stakeholders.
- Manage banking relationships and credit agreements.
- Establish profitability benchmarks for investment activities.
- Report critical financial trends to senior management.
- Act as a board designate when delegated.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- A recognized accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CA) is essential.
- Proficiency in Power BI is required.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite applications is necessary.
- Experience with SAP is advantageous.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Maximo and Field Glass is a plus.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
