Brake Development Engineer

Zobility is seeking a highly skilled Brake Development Engineer to join our team in a challenging role that requires a strong background in vehicle suspension and braking systems.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Brake Development Team: Direct and supervise the activities of a team of engineers and technicians in the Brake Development Lab.
- Operate and Maintain Test Equipment: Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of two brake-end dynos and one full-size chassis dyno, including associated test setup and reporting.
- Supervise Unionized Personnel: Supervise and manage unionized personnel, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment, resolving conflicts, and addressing safety and environmental concerns.
- Conduct Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data using the Laser Vibrometer and Caliper Test Stand, providing insights to improve brake system performance.
- Support Departmental Activities: Participate in various departmental activities, including vacation coverage for the Corrosion Teardown lab, as needed.
- Vehicle Suspension and Braking Systems Knowledge: Possess in-depth knowledge of vehicle suspension and braking systems, including design, testing, and validation.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Team Center and NX, with knowledge of Link ProLink software suite and experience using a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) an asset.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong leadership, planning, and follow-up skills, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Minimum 1 Year of Engineering Experience: Possess a minimum of 1 year of engineering experience in a testing environment within the automotive industry.
- Supervision Experience: Have previous supervision experience, with the ability to manage 1-2 workers.
- Travel and Work Schedule: Be legally authorized to work in Canada, with the ability to travel to the USA, and support working days, afternoons, midnight shifts, and weekends as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering: Hold a minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Master's Degree Preferred: A Master's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or Aeronautical Engineering is preferred.
