About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at the Best Western Plus Norwester Hotel & Conference Centre. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our hotel and conference centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, repairs, and replacements of equipment and fixtures.
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaning machines, and other equipment to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Perform safety and security checks, and respond to any incidents or emergencies.
  • Supervise other workers and ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, and perform other routine maintenance jobs as required.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in a maintenance or facilities role.
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle repetitive tasks.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment.
