Medical Laboratory Assistant Job Description

About the Role:

Dynacare is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process blood samples and other laboratory specimens in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Enter requisitions and results accurately, ensuring seamless communication with healthcare providers.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, creating a positive and empathetic experience for patients.
  • Manage anxious patients through the sample obtaining process, demonstrating skill and compassion.
  • Prioritize and self-manage within a deadline-oriented environment, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Be extremely detail-oriented, with proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

Requirements:

  • Secondary School diploma and Laboratory Assistant training program or Medical Lab Assistance course with specialized training in phlebotomy.
  • Customer-focused with a genuine care for patients' health.
  • Ability to manage anxious patients and prioritize tasks in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
