Job Title: Sessional Lecturer

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Sessional Lecturer to join our team at Ontario Tech University. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of teaching excellence and a passion for delivering high-quality education to our students.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver a theoretically sophisticated and relevant course at the university level, utilizing a technology-enhanced learning approach.
  • Prepare, deliver, and grade all course material and assignments, and be available for consultation with students.
  • Work effectively in a collaborative environment and maintain effective relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Manage course delivery, marking of assignments, and respond to student enquiries in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated excellent teaching contributions with a proven aptitude for teaching at the pre-service and/or K-12 teaching level.
  • A proven commitment to providing innovative and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain effective relationships with a range of faculty, staff, and students.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage course delivery and student enquiries.
Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.
  • A Master's degree in education is required.
  • A PhD is an asset.
Experience:
  • Successful teaching within the K to 6 classroom with hands-on coding, computational thinking, and digital communication.
  • Successful infusion of digital technologies in practice as purposeful teaching tools for, as, and of learning in the classroom.
  • Demonstrated evidence-based, or research-informed practice.

Please note that this is a contract position, and the successful candidate will be required to certify that they are currently legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the contract.
