- Document applicant files efficiently on the Underwriting systems to ensure accurate and secure record-keeping.
- Complete thorough underwriting assessments considering various factors to ensure accurate and informed decision-making.
- Finalize underwriting decisions within approval limits to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Compose clear and concise correspondence related to underwriting decisions to ensure effective communication.
- Participate in underwriting-related research and analysis to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director on cases as needed to ensure comprehensive and accurate underwriting.
- Perform other assigned projects and duties to support business objectives and growth.
- Minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience with a proven track record of success.
- Achieved AALU designation and working towards FALU/FLMI designations to demonstrate expertise and commitment to the field.
- Strong knowledge of medical and financial underwriting principles and practices.
- Experience with simplified issue and final expense products to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
- Expertise in underwriting theory, principles, and processes to ensure accurate and informed decision-making.
- Demonstrated risk assessment and leadership skills to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
- Effective communication skills in both French and English to ensure effective communication with producers and customers.
- Consultation skills to make consistent underwriting decisions that align with company objectives.
- Knowledge of underwriting legislation and regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Familiarity with Foresters Financial insurance products and provisions to ensure accurate and informed decision-making.
