What you can expect to do here:
  • Develop and enhance geological models to aid in resource estimation;
  • Accurately estimate mineral resources;
  • Conduct detailed site investigations and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards;
  • Lead quality assurance and control reviews across various projects;
  • Contribute to and critically assess technical reports and studies;
  • Collaborate on the scope definition for geological mining studies including Preliminary Economic Assessments (PEA), Pre-Feasibility Studies (PFS), and Feasibility Studies (FS);
  • Drive business development by promoting WSP's expertise and attracting new clients;
  • Participate in client meetings, field reviews, and project oversight across various locations;
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to ensure project success.
What you'll bring to WSP:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in geology from a recognized institution or equivalent qualification;
  • At least 10 years of resource estimation experience across various commodities and deposit types, ideally in a consulting context;
  • Registered as a Professional Geologist in Canada or equivalent;
  • Familiarity with international and public disclosure and reporting codes, including NI 43-101, S-K 1300, JORC, SAMREC, and Competent Persons Reports;
  • Proficiency in geostatistics and resource estimations;
  • Understanding of mining fundamentals, rock mechanics, and mineral processing;
  • Excellent command of computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling software and geological database tools such as Datamine, Surpac, and Leapfrog Geo;
  • Experience with scripting and macros;
  • Strong communication skills to engage with colleagues and clients professionally;
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for project work;
  • Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication abilities;
  • Capacity to work independently, make informed decisions, and take responsibility for technical matters;
  • A collaborative spirit and ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
