Job Summary
Meridia Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager - Mechanical to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and executing multiple complex projects in the mechanical building services field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with project teams to design and engineer mechanical systems, ensuring efficient and sustainable solutions.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, coordinate documents and reports, and enforce company standards.
- Act as contract administrator, ensuring timely completion of tasks and managing scope changes.
- Promote and enforce company standards relating to project administration, documentation, and processes.
- Manage drawing reviews, prepare change notices, and address technical and financial queries.
- Support accounts receivable, ensure team coordination, monitor project schedules, and liaise with consultants and vendors.
Requirements:
- Years of relevant work experience in mechanical building services.
- Bachelor of Engineering or Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering; Registration or eligibility for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia.
- Senior Certified Engineering Technologist with equivalent experience may also be considered.
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant Codes and Standards, construction project procurement methodologies, and advanced knowledge of provincial building codes, ASHRAE, CSA, and NFPA standards.
- Experience in healthcare facilities, including Infection Control Certification (CAN/CSA Z312 and CSA Z32), is an asset.
- Experience in project management, working on projects from concept to detailed engineering.
- Ability to work well independently or within a team environment.
- Proactive approach to tasks and strong initiative.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Flexible and adaptable problem-solving skills.
- LEED certification / Experience implementing sustainable design (LEED projects) is an asset.
