Your Role:

The position of Clinical Educator is crucial for overseeing the EMS Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) program. This role involves the creation and implementation of orientation for new MIH staff, alongside providing essential clinical support and developing educational modules for personnel. Collaboration with MIH Operations and MIH Quality and Patient Safety teams is also a key component of this position.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Clinical Educator, you will:

  • Identify and develop training programs tailored to the needs of EMS personnel.
  • Implement and facilitate educational initiatives, ensuring effective transfer of knowledge into practice.
  • Support the competency assessment process for EMS practitioners.
  • Provide ongoing learning and development assistance to EMS staff.

Various teaching methods will be employed, including lectures, e-learning, simulations, and real-time coaching. Candidates must complete the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation as part of the application process.

Essential Qualifications:

Candidates must possess:

  • An accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program certification from the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP).
  • Active registration and a practice permit with the ACP.
  • A valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with a clean driving record.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
  • Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation within the specified timeframe.

Additional Qualifications:

A minimum of five years of field experience as an Advanced Care Paramedic is required, along with:

  • Experience in delivering adult education in classroom or online settings.
  • Familiarity with EMS Mobile Integrated Health programs or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with the following will be given preference:

  • Instructor certifications in ACLS, ACLS-EP, PALS, ITLS, NRP, BLS (CPR), NVCI, and The Working Minds for First Responders.
  • Post-secondary education or a degree in a related field.
  • Experience in AV/computer software and curriculum development.
