Data Cleansing and Migration Consultant Opportunity

Total Systems Solutions Consulting Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Data Cleansing and Migration Consultant to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) in British Columbia.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a consultant with expertise in data quality, analysis, cleansing, and migration to work on a 2-year contract. The consultant will be responsible for conducting data cleansing of existing data and supporting data migration activities in collaboration with the data owners from each health organization and the BC MQI team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform data modeling, data mapping, data quality, and data cleanliness in advance of migration and/or integration activities.
  • Conduct database analysis & database mining and develop routine as well as complex ad-hoc and custom queries.
  • Identify areas where data cleansing may be required by the health authorities and work closely with associated representatives.
  • Perform source and target mapping, conduct discovery and requirements gathering sessions for data migration and/or integration requirements.
  • Make migration or integration source data available in a standard format.
  • Map the source system data to system elements, identify and document any static cross-reference information.
  • Collaborate with the project System Integrator vendor to ensure the successful migration of current source data to the new system.
  • Perform source system data analysis to manage source to target data mapping.
  • Develop and produce reports upon request, including dashboards and report visualizations.
  • Provide a high level of data quality awareness across multiple staff profiles.
  • Support data dictionary alignment activities and coordinate with HA representatives for their implementation and quality follow-up.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or certification in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in data quality, data analysis, data cleansing, and data migration activities.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Java, and other programming languages and associated data cleansing and migration tools.
  • Proven data analysis and profiling experience, data mapping, and transformation.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
  • Experienced at using data quality tools such as Informatica Data Quality or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to gather and interpret data effectively.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders, present findings, and recommendations, and facilitate change.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in migrating data to Salesforce is an asset.
What We Offer
  • Part-time, fixed-term contract.
  • Up to $70.00 per hour.
