About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Credit Analyst to join our Global Infrastructure and Project Finance Group in Toronto. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing and rating infrastructure and project finance transactions, with a focus on the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of infrastructure and project finance transactions, including wind, liquified natural gas (LNG), solar, transmission, and emerging energy transition projects.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the energy sector, including market trends, regulatory frameworks, and credit risk factors.
  • Collaborate with senior members of the team to develop and implement credit rating methodologies and criteria.
  • Communicate complex credit analysis and recommendations to senior management, issuers, and other stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve our credit rating processes.
Requirements
  • At least 10 years of solid project finance related experience in the energy sector.
  • Proven project finance and infrastructure credit skills, gained in a bank credit department, a rating agency, buy side credit department, etc.
  • Solid writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex credit analysis to senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent modelling skills and thorough familiarity with spreadsheet-based financial models.
  • Ability to read and fully comprehend complex structures and to ask probing questions to issuers and their advisers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
