Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative individual to join our Retail Team as an Assistant Store Manager. This role will assist the Store Manager in day-to-day operations and management of the sales team, and assume direct responsibility when the manager is not present.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Manager in managing sales team performance and implementing action plans around budgeting
  • Coach the sales team on promotions, initiatives, products, and customer service
  • Engage with customers to ensure their needs are met and they have a positive experience
  • Maintain an organized and visually appealing store front
  • Perform administrative tasks such as maintaining the client database, handling bank deposits, and assisting with payroll

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years of retail experience, with a combination of education and experience considered
  • Post-Secondary education in Business Administration or a relevant field, with courses in Sales and Retail Customer Service a bonus
  • Proficiency in retail operations and systems, including Point of Sale, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and STORIS
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to motivate, listen to, and coach the team
  • A creative management style and a high standard of quality in customer service, performance, accuracy, and sales goals
  • Familiarity with industry trends, market competition, and customer needs in a retail furniture environment
