Position: Casual Ward Clerk

Department: Maternal Newborn

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a Ward Clerk is essential. Candidates must be adept at processing physician orders and managing specific elements of patient medical records.

Proficiency in preparing, recording, and issuing Ontario Health Cards is required.

Strong data entry skills are necessary, with recent experience handling large databases.

Comfort with accessing and interacting with government databases is expected.

A solid understanding of nursing unit admission and discharge procedures, along with other clerical processes vital for the unit's efficient operation, is crucial.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential.

Knowledge of medical and obstetrical terminology is required.

Demonstrated ability to apply the principles of Patient & Family Centred Care is necessary.

Familiarity with Maternal/Child Services offered in the community and at the health sciences centre is beneficial.

Computer proficiency is mandatory, including expertise in Word, Excel, and MS Office.

Previous experience in gathering and compiling statistics is an asset.

Salary Range: $26.588 to $27.221
