Job Overview

Join our dedicated team at 2609118 Ontario Inc as an Agricultural Laborer. This role is essential for the management and care of various livestock, ensuring their health and well-being.

Education and Experience
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
Work Environment
  • Engage in a variety of farming activities including:
    • Chicken, duck, and geese farming
    • Goat and sheep farming
    • Hog and pig management
    • Poultry and egg production
  • Expect a work environment that may be dusty and odorous due to livestock.
Work Setting
  • Position located in a rural area with staff accommodation available.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and diagnose livestock health issues.
  • Conduct grooming activities for animals.
  • Prepare clean and dry areas for calving cows.
  • Shear sheep as required.
  • Maintain and track feed inventory.
  • Feed and tend to various animals.
  • Milk cows and select livestock for sale.
  • Keep accurate work records and logs.
  • Perform general farm duties as needed.
Supervision
  • Oversee a small team of 1 to 2 individuals.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to handle heavy loads.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day.
  • Physical tasks may include bending, crouching, and kneeling.
