Laboratory Technologist

FortisBC is seeking a highly skilled Gas Operations Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and testing various gases and gas systems to ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze gas samples to determine odorant levels, contaminates, and other products associated with gas operations.
- Monitor the quality of gas purchased by pipeline from transmission companies and tank car.
- Prepare reports and advise appropriate groups of results.
- Compute odorant bulk tank filling schedule requirements.
- Research and develop recommendations regarding odorant levels in gas systems.
Requirements:
- Completion of a recognized post-secondary technologist diploma in an appropriate discipline.
- Certified or eligible for certification at the technologist level by the Applied Sciences Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia.
- Six (6) years directly related relevant experience.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Computer literacy including familiarity with applications software in use in the department.
